We are seeking a Federal Financial System Implementation SME with extensive experience implementing federal financial management systems. The ideal candidate will have experience and a deep understanding of the Federal Financial Management/Accounting Process, as well as expertise in migrating or implementing financial systems such as Oracle Financials, Momentum, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. This role involves serving as a functional consultant and subject matter expert in federal financials and system implementations.

What you will be doing

  • Leading and supporting the migration of an existing financial system to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
  • Developing and designing system solutions tailored to client needs, including configuration, customization, and integration with other systems
  • Gathering requirements, providing financial and technical guidance, and ensuring successful project execution
  • Managing system maintenance, troubleshooting, and version upgrades
  • Providing training and support to end-users, ensuring efficient system usage
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including system design, configurations, and user manuals
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and implement value-added solutions, articulating ideas and thoughts in a clear, structured, and compelling way
  • Ensuring adherence to industry regulations, security protocols, and best practices

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Information Technology, or a relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience with federal financial system migrations or implementations with systems such as Oracle Financials, Momentum, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
  • Subject matter expertise in federal financial management processes and data requirements
  • Understanding of the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), Proprietary and Budgetary Accounting, transaction posting logic, and Federal Financial Reporting (TIER, GTAS, CARS, DATA Act, etc.)
  • Prior experience working closely with clients to determine business and system requirements
  • Ability to lead a project team and drive successful implementation of a financial system
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to come up with solutions that meet client needs
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, including strict attention to detail and reliability of output
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients
  • Project management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Position will require a Public Trust background investigation

  • Financial or consulting industry certifications (e.g., CDFM, CGFM)
  • Microsoft-certified: D365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate or similar certifications
  • Experience with SQL for querying databases
  • Knowledge of Power Platform, Azure, and other Microsoft technologies

Location: Washington, DC (Fully Remote)
Base Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and we are open to discussing compensation based on your qualifications and experience
Other Compensation: 4% contribution to 401(k), performance bonus, profit-sharing
