Ascella Technologies is seeking a skilled Senior Business Analyst to support a federal client with system planning, analysis, and the ongoing evaluation of critical financial data processes. This role is central to ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial systems and data across business units.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in business analysis, requirements gathering, and financial systems within the public sector, with demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This is a hands-on role that requires cross-functional collaboration and confident communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting financial systems planning and performing analytical work related to the design, adaptation, modification, and testing of financial systems
  • Managing requests to update or inactivate financial data elements, system descriptions, and the processes that support them
  • Facilitating system upgrades and implementations, ensuring alignment with internal controls and agency policy requirements
  • Investigating and resolving financial data issues, and clearly documenting resolutions
  • Advising stakeholders—including program managers, accountants, and budget analysts—on the impact of technology changes to financial and business operations
  • Collaborating with stakeholder groups to define priorities and build consensus across functional areas
  • Leading and delivering presentations to senior leadership, including findings, recommendations, and project progress

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, including in-depth knowledge of financial systems (public sector preferred)
  • Strong experience with requirements gathering, process improvement, and system design
  • Demonstrated success in managing and resolving complex data issues across multiple systems
  • Deep understanding of implementation, upgrades, change management, and data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities
  • U.S. Citizenship (dual citizens not eligible)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting principles
  • Experience with Momentum Financials or Microsoft D365 Finance, particularly the Accounts Receivable module
  • Familiarity with federal financial systems and reporting structures
