We are currently searching for a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst with a background in Federal contracting to forecast and help plan our federal business.  The successful applicant will be expected to work with client delivery teams and corporate staff to forecast and optimize Ascella’s Business performance through timely, accurate, and actionable analysis.  This person will develop and maintain a comprehensive corporate financial model that details the entire company’s operations and projects future performance.  We need a strong, dynamic analyst who can help us sift through a variety of financial information and metrics and recommend insightful solutions as to how best to model the business.  An ideal candidate will demonstrate structured/logical thinking, a collaborative spirit, and an inquisitive mind.  This person’s ability to collaborate directly with Business Leaders on a regular basis is core to our success.

What you will be doing

  • Providing management with accurate and timely financial reports detailing company and business units’ performance versus established goals and objectives
  • Owning the company’s overall income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow forecast - consolidating inputs from across the broader finance organization
  • Performing quantitative analysis of operational and financial data
  • Building forecasts of future company performance and maintaining dynamic models to support a rolling forecast, including long-term scenario modeling
  • Creating and validating content for executive level presentations and reviews
  • Performing ad hoc analysis for executives, as required
  • Compiling, analyzing, and leading quarterly budget vs. actual reviews with business unit leads
  • Developing an understanding of financial data systems and flow so you can help pinpoint integration opportunities with other data sources/systems
  • Outlining and defining opportunities to re-engineer processes and automate reporting where possible
  • Evaluating opportunities for cost-savings through financial analysis
  • Helping build and manage planning databases by organizing and analyzing a wide range of data sources
  • Partnering with other groups to develop and refine a robust model of the business

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Finance
  • Prior experience working in financial planning and analysis for a government contracting firm
  • Experience creating/using models and an in-depth understanding of a three-statement financial model, including exceptional skills in MS Excel (pivot tables and importing / manipulating data)
  • Proficient in financial systems and other databases with strong skills in data mining and analytics
  • Detail-oriented and proficient in working with large amounts of data from different sources to derive meaningful insights
  • Operations- and results-centric, ability to work with multiple business teams throughout the organization to streamline financial operations and metrics (providing KPIs, monitoring and forecasting in a timely manner, etc.)
  • Strong finance acumen and ability to manage complexity and demonstrate accountability
  • Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills; ability to multitask, act with a sense or urgency, and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent presentation skills – comfortable presenting to and interacting with all levels of management
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools and a mindset for data analytics
