Ascella is currently seeking a talented and motivated Technical Content Writer to support the business development team through the creation of compelling written material for (1) federal IT proposals and (2) marketing communications.  The Technical Content Writer will contribute to developing content for federal IT proposals and facilitate promoting a positive public image of the company by writing a variety of content for website, social media, and marketing initiatives.  This includes gathering and synthesizing technical information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), writing and editing original proposal content, and contributing to marketing collateral or internal documents as necessary.  The ideal candidate will have familiarity with and passion for technical subjects and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information into clear and concise language.

What You’ll Do:

Federal IT Proposals

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to gather and synthesize technical information into a compelling message that demonstrates an understanding of complex technical subjects and clear approaches to proposal requirements
  • Research new technologies or innovative technical approaches to develop a baseline understanding of these concepts and convey this information clearly using written prose
  • Compile information from multiple sources and edit the language to ensure a consistent tone and voice
  • Work with the Business Development team to write, edit, and review federal government proposals and translate technical material into easily understandable text
  • Proofread and edit content for clarity, grammar, syntax, and consistency

Marketing Communications

  • Draft content (e.g., press releases, blog posts, case studies, white papers, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, etc.) for general marketing and internal communications
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to brainstorm content ideas in line with the Ascella’s expertise and in support of various corporate initiatives
  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the Ascella’s policies, products,  competitors, and industry trends to create well-aligned, strategic content that positions Ascella as an innovative leader
  • Write and edit procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals to facilitate internal communication and knowledge sharing

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Technical Writing, or related field
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in technical writing, content development, or related roles
  • Exceptional technical writing abilities—can synthesize complex research and subject matter expert insights into well-structured, understandable content
  • Familiarity with software development principles, aptitude for comprehending technical concepts, and a genuine curiosity to learn about emerging technologies is a must
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and communication abilities; adept at conveying intricate details with accuracy
  • Effective research skills and the ability to quickly learn new topics, demonstrating proficiency in grasping unfamiliar concepts through self-directed study
  • Ability to work quickly and collaboratively to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Professional experience with proposal writing and editing for federal government bids
  • Experience executing tasks according to corporate communications strategies and/or marketing plans.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and strategies to optimize content performance across different online platforms
  • Ability to create visually engaging marketing materials and supporting visual assets
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Monday, etc.)

Base Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and we are open to discussing compensation based on your qualifications and experience
