We are currently seeking a Geospatial Software Engineer to play a crucial role supporting our federal client.  The person in this role must have an active Top Secret SCI (or TS SCI eligible) clearance and must be willing to work in a hybrid environment (50/50 on-site and remote).

What you will be doing

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain geospatial software applications
  • Utilizing expertise in either JavaScript or Python, as well as either Java or C#, to contribute to the development of cutting-edge geospatial solutions
  • Working with geospatial data and imaging technologies, ensuring the effective integration of geospatial data into software applications
  • Developing and implementing algorithms for data processing, analysis, and visualization withing geospatial applications
  • Contributing to the optimization and enhancement of existing geospatial software systems
  • Collaborating with geospatial analysts, GIS specialists, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions
  • Staying updated on emerging trends and advancements in geospatial technologies and incorporating them into the development process

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Geospatial Sciences, or related field
  • Active Top Secret SCI or TS SCI eligible clearance
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or Python
  • Proficiency in Java or C#
  • Prior experience with geospatial data and imaging technologies
  • Familiarity with geospatial standards, formats, and tools (e.g., GeoJSON, GeoTIFF, GDAL)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and independent thinker with high energy/positive attitude

What makes you stand out from the crowd (desired)

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • Experience with web mapping libraries (e.g., OpenLayers, Leaflet) and geospatial databases (e.g., PostgresSQL, PostGIS)
  • Knowledge of geospatial analysis techniques and tools

Position: Geospatial Software Engineer
Location: Chantilly, VA / Remote (Hybrid role)
Base Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, and we are open to discussing compensation based on your qualifications and experience
Other Compensation: 4% contribution to 401(k), performance bonus, profit-sharing
